Chore wheel

Nobody wants the bathroom. Let the wheel decide, and let the wheel take the complaints.

A little suspense. One lucky landing.

When to use a chore wheel

  1. Roommates splitting the work

Spin every Sunday night and post the results in your group chat. Because the wheel decided, nobody can argue the bathroom was assigned out of spite.

  2. Kids' weekend jobs

Load age-appropriate chores and let each child spin their own. Kids complain less about a job they "won", especially if one slice is a free pass.

  3. Shared office kitchen

Spin for who unloads the dishwasher and wipes the fridge each week. Pin the result in the team channel so the reminder isn't coming from a person.

  4. Holiday cleanup

Twenty people just ate. Spin for dish duty, leftovers packing and table clearing so the same aunt doesn't end up at the sink again.

Get more from the wheel

  • Remove each chore once it lands so no one gets two jobs until everyone has one.
  • Put the worst job on the wheel only once and the easy ones twice. It still feels fair, and the bathroom lands less often.
  • Add a "Free pass" or "Swap with anyone" slice. A little luck makes kids want to spin.
  • Spin at the same time each week, like Sunday after dinner, so the routine runs itself.

Questions people ask

How do I make a chore wheel fair for different ages?

Run separate wheels. Give younger kids the simple list and teens the bigger jobs, or weight the wheel by putting easy chores on twice for whoever spins first.

Can I save my chore wheel for next week?

Your list stays on this device, so the same browser opens it next time. To share it with the house, use Share and embed and send the link.

What if someone keeps landing the same chore?

That's randomness doing its thing. If it becomes a problem, remove that person's last chore from the list before they spin so it can't land twice in a row.
