Questions people ask
- How does the wheel of names choose a winner?
- Your browser picks an entry using cryptographic randomness before the wheel spins. Every slice has an equal chance. The animation lands on the chosen slice.
- Can I use names or prizes?
- Yes. Paste 2 to 500 names or prizes, one per line, or upload a CSV. Repeated entries get extra chances. For more than 100 entries, labels stay hidden and the winner appears below the wheel.
- Is this random wheel free?
- Yes. Spin without signing up. Your list stays on this device unless you choose to create a public, verifiable draw.
- What is a verifiable result?
- It starts a new draw from your list using public drand randomness. Names are sent to Perkadoo and shown on a public results page with the proof. That draw may pick a different winner from the local wheel.
- Can I embed the wheel?
- Yes. Choose Get embed code and paste the iframe into your site. Entries live in the URL fragment, which browsers do not send to servers. Anyone with the embed link can read them.
- Can I skip the spinning animation?
- Turn on reduced motion in your device settings. The wheel reveals the result with a gentle fade. Editing the list cancels a spin, and you can spin again at any time.
