A little suspense. One lucky landing.

When to use a what to eat wheel

  1. The 6pm standoff

Two people, zero ideas, both hungry. Spin once and agree up front that the first result stands unless someone has a real veto, like an allergy or eating it yesterday.

  2. Office lunch orders

Spin at 11:30 so the order goes in before the rush. Rotate who gets to remove one option first, so the person who hates sushi isn't stuck with it every week.

  3. Meal planning for the week

Spin five times on Sunday and you have a Monday to Friday plan. Write the results on the fridge and build one grocery list from them.

  4. Road trips and new cities

In an unfamiliar town, spin for a cuisine, then search for the best rated spot nearby. You'll eat better than if you defaulted to the first chain off the highway.

Get more from the wheel

  • Give everyone one veto before the spin, not after. Vetoes after the result turn the wheel into a slow argument.
  • Remove tonight's winner from the list once you've eaten it, and you won't land on tacos three nights running.
  • Add your favorite twice. It's still random, just tilted toward the thing you secretly hope for.
  • Keep the list to 8 to 15 dishes. Fewer feels repetitive and more makes every slice too thin to read.

Questions people ask

How do I stop the wheel picking food I don't like?

Delete it from the list. The box beside the wheel is fully editable, so strip out anything nobody in the house will eat before you spin.

Can I use the food wheel for restaurant names?

Yes. Replace the dishes with places near you, one per line. It works well for a team picking between the four lunch spots within walking distance.

What if we keep re-spinning?

Agree on a rule before the first spin: the result stands, or best of three. If everyone wants a re-spin, that's a hint the group already knows what it wants. Order that.
