How to pick a giveaway winner on TikTok

TikTok giveaways pull in comments fast, and plenty of them come from accounts that saw your video on the For You page and will never visit again. Getting a clean list means grabbing the comments from the web player, then filtering by your entry rule before you draw.

Draw your TikTok winner

Copy your TikTok comments in three steps
  1. On desktop, open your TikTok video and its comments panel. Expand replies and load the comments you need.
  2. Select and copy the visible authors and comments. Check that the selection includes the usernames.
  3. Paste below or upload an author/comment CSV. If the mobile app won't copy a thread, use desktop web or an export you already have.

0 comments → 0 eligible entries. 0 didn't tag 0 friends; 0 duplicates; 0 excluded; 0 missing the word; 0 removed.

Paste comments to see who's in.

Check this list before continuing. You can edit names on the next step. Parsing stays in your browser; eligible names are sent to Perkadoo when you draw and appear on the public results page.

Get your TikTok entries

  1. Use tiktok.com, not the app

The phone app won't let you select a block of comments. Log in on a computer, open the video, and the comments sit in a panel beside it where you can highlight them.

  2. Scroll until the panel stops growing

TikTok loads comments in batches as you scroll. Keep going until nothing new appears, and click "View replies" on threads where entrants answered each other with their entry.

  3. Copy it all in one go

Select from the top comment to the bottom one and copy. Dates, like counts and "Creator" labels come along for the ride; the TikTok comment picker cleans them out when you paste.

  4. Save a backup file

Paste the raw text into a note and save it with the date. Viral videos keep collecting comments for weeks, so you'll want proof of what the list looked like at your deadline.

Pick and check the winner

  1. Filter by your keyword

If the video said "comment SNACK to enter", type SNACK into the keyword filter. Everyone who only wrote "omg" or a row of emojis drops out.

  2. Match the tag rule to your video

Asked people to tag a friend? Set required tags to 1. Didn't ask? Leave it at 0, so you don't punish people for following the rules you actually gave.

  3. Lock the list and draw

Hit draw once. The winner comes from drand's public randomness, and the results page lists how many comments were eligible so viewers can see nobody was skipped.

  4. Post a winner video

Film a 10-second reveal or stitch your original video, and put the results link in your bio or a pinned comment. Duet-happy viewers love checking the receipts.

Mistakes that make a draw look rigged

  • Drawing from the app's comment view, which only shows a slice ranked by TikTok's algorithm.
  • Not saying in the video that the giveaway is open to US residents only, then getting a winner overseas you can't ship to.
  • Accepting comments that arrive after the deadline because the video went viral late.
  • Asking for duets or stitches as entries without a way to collect them; comments are the only thing you can actually list.
  • Skipping a check of TikTok's current rules on promotions before you post, since they change often.

Announce the winner

Post it where people entered, and link the results page so anyone can check the draw.

Questions people ask

Can I export TikTok comments?

TikTok has no export button for video comments. Copying them from the web player is the free route, and the comment picker is built to read that copied text.

What if the winner never replies to my DM?

Set a claim window in your rules, like 48 hours, and draw a backup winner at the same time as the main one. If the window passes, contact the backup and say so publicly.

Do I need an age limit on a TikTok giveaway?

Many US sweepstakes limit entry to people 18 and over, and that's especially worth doing on a young platform like TikTok. Put the age limit in your caption and your official rules.
